A unique case of forgery has come to the fore in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Here a thug posing as a policeman cheated a young man of five lakh rupees. When the victim came to know that he had been duped, he lodged a complaint with the police.
The police officer told on Monday that in Nagpur, a man posing as a policeman had cheated a young man of five lakh rupees. According to the information, the accused called Mustafa Saifi (23) and said that a parcel was received in his name, in which 150 grams of mephedrone (drugs) was found and it was seized in Mumbai.
The officer said, “During this time, the accused, posing as a policeman, forced Saifi to transfer five lakh rupees online. However, Saifi later realized that he had been cheated and then approached the police.”
Tehsil police station official said that a case of cheating and other offenses under the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act has been registered and efforts are on to nab the accused.
