Sad news has come to light from a village in Palghar district of Maharashtra. A two-month-old sick girl child from a village in Vikramgarh taluka died due to lack of timely treatment. Actually, the reason behind not getting proper treatment is not the financial constraints but the village road. It is being told that roads have not been built in this village with hundreds of population.
The family says that due to lack of proper road in the village, they could not reach the nearby Primary Health Center (PHC) on time, due to which the child died. On the other hand, Medical Officer of Vikramgarh taluka, Dr. Sandeep Nimbalkar told that the girl died on Wednesday due to pneumonia.
The girl child of Mhasepada village had fallen ill a few days ago. When she did not recover, her parents decided to take her to the nearby PHC in Malwada. Since there is no access road in the village with a population of around 150 people, the family had to take a circuitous route in heavy rain to reach the health centre. There, wooden planks were placed to cross the river. The girl’s father Naresh Chavan said that he reached the PHC with great difficulty, but there was a delay and the child died on the way before reaching the PHC.
Villagers said that they have been demanding a bridge over the river for a long time, but nothing has happened so far.
