Amidst the fight to take over the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), an interesting incident has come to light from Maharashtra. On one hand, the Election Commission has postponed the hearing on the claims of NCP’s Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar till October 6, while on the other hand, joint posters were put up in Pune to welcome both the leaders, but at the last moment, Deputy Chief Minister of the state Ajit Pawar canceled his visit. In these posters put up by NCP workers in Pune, it was written that Maharashtra is waiting for Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar to meet again. These posters were posted by party workers before the two leaders were to attend a program, but Deputy CM Ajit Pawar canceled his program.
After joining the Eknath Shinde-led grand alliance government, Ajit Pawar has staked his claim on NCP. So, on behalf of Sharad Pawar, the Commission has been told that some selfish people have left us due to their different ideologies, the rest of the party is one. Party workers are confused due to the split of NCP into two factions, in such a situation, when the program for the arrival of senior and junior Pawar was fixed at Vasantdada Sugar Institute in Pune, the workers wanted to welcome both the leaders by putting up the same poster but Ajit Pawar canceled his program.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar is the chairman of Pune’s Vansatdada Sugar Institute, while Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is a member in the current Maharashtra government. The institute had sent invitations of the program to both the leaders. There was a possibility of both of them attending the institute meeting. Preparations were also made for this, but ultimately Ajit Pawar canceled the tour. Pune is considered the stronghold of NCP.
