Maharashtra’s Amravati ACP Bharat Gaikwad shot dead his wife Moni and nephew Deepak Gaikwad in Pune. After this he committed suicide. Bharat Gaikwad’s wife and two children lived in Pune. He came to Pune from Amravati on Saturday. Late night around 3:30, Gaikwad shot his wife and nephew with his pistol and then shot himself dead. The police is investigating the matter.
Bharat Gaikwad was the ACP of Rajapeth division of Amravati city. His age was 57 years. Recently he was promoted from Senior Police Inspector and became ACP. He was posted in Amravati. He first shot wife Moni Gaikwad, who was 44 years old, at 3.45 am with the revolver he was carrying. Hearing the sound, 35-year-old nephew Deepak Gaikwad reached the upstairs room. On seeing Deepak, he shot him too. However, the mother-in-law and son Suhas Gaikwad were pushed through the door and closed the door. Then he shot himself in the head and he also died.
The incident took place at Baner, behind 5 Rajgrah Bungalow D Mart, Laxman Nagar Lane, Pune at 4.45 am. The family members informed the police. Police reached the spot and took them to the nearest Jupiter Hospital, but the doctors declared all three brought dead. Whether licensed revolver was used in the incident or private is under investigation.
