Police in Maharashtra’s Beed district said that a private bus that was traveling at high speed on Thursday morning flipped, leaving five persons dead and 22 wounded.
The bus was traveling from Mumbai to Beed, which is about 120 kilometers away, when the accident happened near Aashta Fata between 5.45 and 6 in the morning, according to the statement. The bus was traveling quickly. The authorities added that it seemed as if the driver lost control of the wheels, causing the collision. Four people from the Beed district and one from Yavatmal were among those slain, Ashti police station in-charge Santosh Khetmalas informed PTI. Moreover, this tragedy resulted in 22 injuries. He stated they were sent to different hospitals for treatment.
Apart from this, an ambulance traveling at high speed collided with a truck from behind at Ambhora on Dhamangaon-Ahmednagar Road in Beed at around 9.30 pm on Wednesday night, the official said. In the accident, four people traveling in the ambulance died and one was injured. He told that the ambulance was going to Ahmednagar. Its driver and two others died on the spot while an injured doctor died during treatment at a private hospital in Ahmednagar.
The deceased have been identified as Dr Rajesh Jhinjhurke (35) and ambulance driver Bharat Lokhande (35), both residents of Ashti, while the other two deceased, Manoj Tirpude and Pappu Tirkhunde, are residents of Pathardi, police said. He said that the injured was taken to the hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
