After making the application process for houses online, the Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority (MHADA) is now all set to simplify the allotment process. After the lottery of houses, the winners had to wander to the banks for paper procedures. Had to go around many times to deposit stamp duty and registration fees. Now MHADA is making arrangements to carry out all the procedures in its headquarters on the lines of a single window scheme. A senior official of MHADA said that this facility will be available for future lotteries.
After the Corona epidemic, the registration department started the process of online registration to reduce the crowd in the office. After this initiative, people are paying stamp duty and registration fees online at the builder’s office. After getting a good response, MHADA has now started working on the e-registration scheme for the convenience of the citizens. Every year the lottery of houses of one or the other board of MHADA is issued. Due to the long process, MHADA also had problems with the people. For this reason, this year the entire lottery process was done online.
Apart from making the lottery process online, all the documents of the applicants are also being verified online. Earlier, after the release of the lottery, the documents of the applicants were sought. One to two years used to pass in checking all the documents. In such a situation, even after winning the lottery, it used to take many years for the winners to get the keys to the houses. Now this work is being completed in two and a half months only.
Apart from simplifying the paperwork, MHADA has also tied up with some banks to make it easier for the winners to get loans. By doing this, MHADA has reduced the rush of people to complete all the mandatory procedures after the lottery. The official told that this year people will have to run for stamp duty and registration, but after such e-registration, everything will become easy.
The lottery for 4,082 houses of MHADA Mumbai Board will be conducted online on August 14 at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Mumbai. MHADA had announced the date of issuing the lottery two days in advance. But where the program will be held, it was not decided. Keeping in view the convenience of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, this time the lottery will be drawn at Yashwant Rao Chavan Centre. Earlier all the lotteries of Mumbai Board were conducted in Bandra only.
