The preparations for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 have been started vigorously by the party and the opposition. With the target of winning 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, the round of meetings has also started in Mahayuti. Under Mission 48 in Maharashtra, a meeting of Mahayuti constituents BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) was held at NSCI in Worli on Friday. The meeting was attended by MLAs, MPs and office bearers of the three parties including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. Addressing the party leaders in the meeting, Chief Minister Shinde announced Mission 48 in Maharashtra.
In the Mahayuti meeting, all the three parties said in one voice that they will fight the Lok Sabha elections on the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi has increased the prestige of the country in the whole world, which is also benefiting Maharashtra. Mahayuti will win all 48 seats in Maharashtra. Indirectly targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shinde said that there are some leaders who go abroad and defame the country by taking the name of Modi. Such people come in the category of traitors, those who cannot create a logo (symbol) of India, will they make a new India? These parties have come together for their personal interest and only for the good of their families. What kind of unity is this, people who have not been able to declare their leader till now. This shows how united they are.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said his biggest failure is that he cannot field a prime ministerial candidate against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The opposition’s ‘India’ alliance is made up of people who are filled with hatred towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shinde claimed that be it Lalu Prasad, Nitish Kumar or Arvind Kejriwal, all of them are facing corruption charges and police complaints. Citing a research report, Shinde said that 80 percent people in the country support Modi. Former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was also on Shinde’s target.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis insisted that Mahayuti leaders, office bearers and workers should go among the public and tell the achievements of the central and state governments. The opposition is doing bad propaganda against the government. We need to respond aggressively to this. Party officials need to forget their differences and start preparing for the Lok Sabha elections, because the election of Modi is necessary for the development of the country. The contribution of 48 seats in Maharashtra will be important in this. He said that the alliance of the three parties in the Mahayuti is a Fevicol joint, it will not break. Hailing the idea of ‘one nation, one election’, Fadnavis said holding simultaneous polls would bring down expenditure.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that earlier we were separate, but now we are together. There is no difference between me, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis. This is a rumor spread by the opponents. We (Shinde, Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar) have got our hearts at the level above, now we need to get hearts at the ground level. We need to go to villages and towns and hold meetings so that the three parties unite and win the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. Shiv Sena and NCP, both constituents of Mahayuti, have supported the principle of one nation, one election in the country. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said ‘one nation, one election’ will save people’s money. The Election Commission had to spend Rs 10,000 crore on the 2019 general elections. Ajit Pawar also supported it and said that it is the need of the hour.
