According to a senior source on Wednesday, police in Maharashtra’s Palghar district have detained a 32-year-old man from Boisar on suspicion of murdering his wife.
According to him, the suspect was taken into custody at Lokhandi Pada.
Balasaheb Patil, the superintendent of police for Palghar, stated during a news conference that the victim, Mohini Milan Pawar, 30, was discovered Sunday morning in her home laying in a pool of blood.
Her sister filed a complaint, and as a result, a case was opened under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 302 (murder) against the victim’s spouse.
“The police investigation team received a tip that the defendant was about to flee to Gujarat. A police crew hurried to the Boisar train station and set up a trap after receiving this information. Within five hours, the individual was apprehended at the train station itself,” he said.
According to the official, the accused admitted to killing his wife with an electric wire and stabbing her as a result of a domestic disagreement when being questioned by police.
According to the police, the apprehended suspect appeared before a local court, which ordered him to remain in police custody until July 27.
