In the early hours of Friday, a lady and her 1-year-old boy reportedly leaped to their deaths from a high-rise in Thane, Maharashtra, according to authorities.
They said that the event was the result of a fight between the 26-year-old lady and her husband about a family concern.
Inspector (crime) Y S Awhad of the Kasarvadavali police station stated that the victim, Priyanka Mohite, lived in a building on the Ghodbunder Road with her husband and their little boy.
The lady wanted to visit her sister’s home on August 30, which was Raksha Bandhan. However, her spouse cautioned her against taking their kid on the trip. He said that this led to a tense fight between the pair.
She and their kid committed suicide on Friday at 1.30 am by jumping from the balcony of their apartment due to tension between them, he continued.
Other occupants of the building emerged after hearing the boom. They transported the mother and son pair to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead after they were discovered laying in a pool of blood. A case of accidental death was filed after their corpses were sent to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.
The victim’s floor and the number of floors in the building were not specified by the authorities.
