A threatening phone call was received in the Mumbai Police control room, in which an unknown person informed about some people making a bomb in Mumbai and blowing up the control room. After investigation it was found that the caller was under the influence of alcohol. Mumbai Police said that after this fake phone call, a case has been registered against the person at Bangur Nagar Police Station and he has been arrested.
This is not the first time that Mumbai Police Control Room received a threat call. This has happened many times before this. On Sept 5, Mumbai Police received a call from a woman who claimed that there was a bomb on Nepency Road, Colaba and sought help from the police. Police sources say that the same woman has called the police control 38 times so far and informed about the bomb. The police was still working on the information given by this caller when at the same time another caller called the control room and informed that a bomb had been planted in Kamathipura street number 12.
After the news of bombs being planted in two areas of the city, the police investigated the matter and followed the SOP. However, the police did not find anything suspicious in the information given by the caller. Mumbai Police has already received calls many times informing about bombs planted in different areas of the city.
