Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Vijay Wadettiwar had alleged that there was a cold between Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. He alleged that Ajit Pawar was interfering in the work of Chief Minister Shinde. Ajit Pawar is holding a meeting with the officials regarding the important projects of the departments coming under the jurisdiction of the CM. Ajit Pawar has given clarification regarding these allegations of Leader of Opposition. Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said that I have joined the government only to serve the public. As Finance Minister, I can take a meeting to check the status of important projects.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said that we hold meetings in 15 days to check the status of important projects. Why do you (journalists) have problems. He said that irrespective of whose government is in power, the Chief Minister has the right to take the final decision in every matter. Me, Devendra Fadnavis and the Chief Minister work together. Chief Minister Shinde takes the final decision in every matter. Ajit Pawar said that the post of Leader of Opposition is a post of responsibility. He should speak carefully. No one is angry in the government. CM was unwell so we all told him to take care of his health. Ajit Pawar clarified that the reports of cold war between him and Eknath Shinde are baseless and wrong. The opposition is trying to mislead the people.
Significantly, Leader of the Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar had said in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, “A cold war has broken out between the two (CM Shinde and Ajit). Pawar as finance minister has nothing to do with the projects run by the ‘war room’.” In fact, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar reviewed major infrastructure projects in the ministry, which Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had launched in his ‘war room’. So the speculation started that there is a cold war between the two.
