The state health department of Maharashtra recorded 111 Covid-19 instances on Saturday, bringing the total to 81,68,328. As no new fatalities were recorded in the previous 24 hours, the state’s Covid-19 death toll of 1,48,542 remained constant. There are currently 1,032 active cases in Maharashtra.
The state reported 121 cases and one death a day earlier. According to a report from the health department, the Mumbai circle recorded the most new cases on Saturday with 69, followed by 18 in Pune, 7 in Nagpur, 6 in Latur, 4 in Akola, 3 in Kolhapur, and 2 each in Aurangabad and Nashik.
28 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Mumbai City, however there were no fatalities, bringing the total number of infections to 11,62,580 and the death toll to 19,769. In Maharashtra, 112 Covid-19 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the year, and 75% of the fatalities were those over the age of 60. It said that whereas comorbidities were present in 85% of the deaths, none were present in 14%.
In Maharashtra, 967 cases of Covid-19 were reported during the week of May 7–13, compared to 1,876 infections during the week of April 30–May 6. After 176 people were released from hospitals in the previous 24 hours, the total number of recoveries in Maharashtra increased to 80,18,819, according to the data.
In the state, the COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.17%, while the mortality rate is 1.81%. The health department said that 8,70,89,039 samples have already been evaluated after a total of 7,177 tests—5,564 in government laboratories, 1,551 at commercial labs, and 62 tests using self-testing kits—were carried out across the state in the previous 24 hours.
