Mumbai: Pratibha Pawar, wife of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) founder Sharad Pawar, has undergone surgery at Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai on Friday. A party official has given this information. He gave more details and told that Pratibha Pawar’s surgery is related to hand. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar went to ‘Silver Oak’, the official residence of NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, to meet Pratibha Pawar after she was discharged from the hospital.
Ajit Pawar visited Silver Oak for the first time after rebelling against his uncle. Ajit Pawar joined the government headed by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on July 2 after rebelling in the NCP. Ajit Pawar is considered close to his aunt Pratibha.
Pratibha Pawar was reportedly instrumental in bringing him back to the NCP in 2019, when Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis formed a short-lived government after the assembly elections. She is popularly known as ‘Kaki’ among NCP leaders. Pratibha Pawar is respected as a guardian in the party, but she has never been active in politics.
