A sensational case of brutal murder of three members of the same family has come to light in Shirdi of Ahmednagar district on Wednesday night. Within 5-10 minutes, the son-in-law created a massacre in the in-laws’ house and attacked six members of the family and ran away from the spot. This incident has spread panic in Shirdi. Police have taken two accused into custody and investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to the police, this heart-wrenching incident took place in Savli Vihir village near Shirdi. Suresh Vilas Nikam, a resident of Sangamner, reached his in-laws’ house with his cousin in Savli Vihir village on Wednesday night. As soon as he opened the door of the house, he started attacking the in-laws present in the house with a sharp knife. According to the information, son-in-law Suresh killed his wife Varsha, brother-in-law Rohit and grandmother-in-law by stabbing them with a sharp weapon. In this incident, the mother-in-law, father-in-law and sister-in-law of the accused have been seriously injured. He is undergoing treatment at Saibaba Hospital in Shirdi.
It is being told that due to a family dispute, he attacked his in-laws with a knife. The accused did not even spare the elderly grandmother-in-law and killed her too. The three deceased have been identified as Varsha Suresh Nikam (wife of the accused, age 24), Rohit Changdev Gaikwad (brother-in-law, age 25), Heerabai Draupada Gaikwad (grandmother-in-law, age 70). Also, Changdev Draupad Gaikwad (father-in-law, age 55), Sangeeta Changdev Gaikwad (mother-in-law, age 45), Yogita Mahendra Jadhav (sister-in-law, age 30) have been seriously injured.
In this case, Suresh Vilas Nikam and his cousin Roshan Kailas Nikam have been detained by the police from Nashik district. Meanwhile, a case of murder has been registered at Shirdi police station.
