Ajit Pawar, the leader of the Nationalist Congress Party, voiced his displeasure with M Mallikarjun Kharge’s remark that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a “venomous snake” on Friday. Pawar remembered how Yashwantrao Chavan, the first chief minister of Maharashtra, handled criticism when he was questioned by reporters about Kharge’s contentious remark.
Kharge compared Modi to a poisonous snake on Thursday while speaking at a campaign rally in Karnataka, which is close to going to the polls. He explained that his comments were directed at the governing BJP rather than the Prime Minister when a fight broke out. When questioned about the argument, Pawar said that Yashwantrao Chavan shown maturity when journalist and writer P K Atre insulted him.
“Narendra Modi is our prime minister at the moment. Manmohan Singh and Atal Bihari Vajpayee came before them. Making such a claim about the nation’s or a state’s chief minister doesn’t seem right, the speaker said. In Maharashtra, rumours regarding Ajit Pawar’s political aspirations have been rampant over the last two weeks since he looked to be softening his stance against the BJP. But Pawar emphasised that he would never abandon the NCP.
