According to police, eight guys were detained after they reportedly opened fire on a victim over a money dispute in the CR Park neighborhood of south Delhi. According to them, the accused include Sangam Vihar residents Anup (age 28), Govind Gupta (age 32), Gaurav (age 36), and Neeraj (30) of Haryana’s Faridabad, as well as Rakesh Kumar Goyel (age 42), Abhishek Singh (age 22), Anmol Gupta (age 26), and Prince (20).
On Thursday, there was a report of gunfire near the Bata Showroom in CR Park, according to the police. A senior police officer said that the complainant claimed he and his buddy were traveling near New Friends Colony in a vehicle when he was shot at and ran from by unidentified assailants.
They said that in addition to the complainant receiving a gunshot wound to his right hand, the bullet also caused damage to his cellphone. According to Deputy Commissioner of officers (South) Chandan Chowdhary, officers reviewed over 350 CCTV cameras throughout the inquiry and traveled 17 kilometers back through the neighborhood to reach Sangam Vihar, which is close to the complainant’s home. According to Chowdhary, several persons were observed loitering close to the complainant’s home and were later discovered to be conducting a reconnaissance.
Neeraj and Gaurav, two suspects, were taken into custody from Faridabad during a raid. The DCP said that they identified the sharpshooters as Anup and Govind, who were captured in Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police, they were able to find the country-made handgun and motorbike that were used in the crime, as well as one semi-automatic gun, three live rounds, one auto-rickshaw, and Rs 25,000 in cash. Later, four more accused people were also apprehended, and Rs 1 lakh was also found, they said.
Goyel admitted that he lost a significant sum of money in gambling that was conducted by Sachin Gupta, who increased it by compound interest to a total of Rs. 75 lakh. According to cops, it was arranged that he would pay Rs 1.5 lakh as interest each month till the balance was paid. Being a store owner, he had to pay a sizable sum each month. He intended to kill Sachin Gupta, the complaint, in order to get rid of it.
Through Anmol and Prince, they claimed that he handed Govind and Anup the contract to murder. Anmol paid Rakesh six lakh rupees to settle the murder, but handed Prince an additional 3.5 lakh rupees. Prince then paid Govind and Anup, two shooters, three lakh rupees to complete the job, according to the police. Anup has previously been a party to four criminal proceedings. Four to five days before to the event, Gaurav and Neeraj were seen conducting surveillance on the complainant near his home, according to the police. They then informed Anup and Govind of the complainant’s whereabouts.
