It is raining heavily in Mumbai including many areas of Maharashtra on Tuesday. In many areas, clouds have been raining since morning, and somewhere it is raining heavily. Here the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Orange Alert for Mumbai and Palghar and Yellow Alert in Thane. The Meteorological Department has told that the monsoon will remain active in Maharashtra for the next 3-4 days. There will be rain and heavy rain in many places including Central Maharashtra and Konkan region.
The Meteorological Department had expressed the possibility of heavy rain a day earlier. The department had told that due to the intensification of the low-pressure area in the Arabian Sea, there will be orange and yellow alert in Maharashtra on June 27 and 28, while some important parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha and the possibility of heavy rains in Konkan. Meanwhile, there will be heavy rains in Maharashtra on June 29 and 30, but this time no warning of heavy rain has been issued.
There is a possibility of heavy rains in West Maharashtra including Nashik in the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has warned that there will be more than average rainfall in Marathwada as well. It has been said in the information that orange alert has been issued for Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Pune, Ratnagiri, Amravati and Nagpur districts, while yellow alert has been issued for Satara, Sindhudurg, Nashik, Nandurbar, Chandrapur and Gondia districts. Apart from this, there will be rain at different places in the districts of North Maharashtra, Marathwada. There may be heavy rains in Mumbai and Raigad. Strong winds and heavy rain are expected in Thane, Pune, Palghar, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Satara, Beed and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
