On its route to Titwala on Wednesday night, a Mumbai local train ran into the edge of a platform at the Mumbra station in the neighboring Thane district, causing delays and train bunching for a while, according to authorities.
When the train, which had left from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), arrived at the Mumbra station, this extraordinary incident had place. They claimed that nobody was hurt.
According to Dr. Shivraj Manaspure, chief public relations officer for Central Railway, the event happened at roughly 9.20 p.m. while the sluggish train was approaching on platform number 1 of the station.
The motorman of the train promptly applied brakes and halted the train after detecting that it had brushed into the platform, according to Manaspure, who also said that there had been no reports of any passenger injuries. The Central Railway made it clear that the event wasn’t a derailment in its official announcement about it.
After the incident, the motorman and other staff members, according to Manaspure, extensively inspected the local train before it left for Kalyan at 9.45 p.m. Then, he said, “the train was cancelled at Kalyan and sent to Kalva carshed for a thorough inspection.”
A few suburban locals were held up behind this suburban train, and as a precaution, they also left the location at a reduced pace. The event caused suburban services to get backed up for a while and to be disrupted.
The event, according to commuters, adversely impacted the trains on slow lines, which led to increased crowding on the trains and platforms. According to several riders’ tweets, the event caused other trains on the same route to be delayed by 45 to 60 minutes.
