Mumbai’s Bangur Nagar Police exposed a kidnapping plot. Here a young man made a plan and conspired for his fake kidnapping and then demanded a ransom of 5 lakhs from his own family. The police have now arrested this young man. Police investigation revealed that the 27-year-old accused was debt-ridden and carried out his own kidnapping to extort money from the family.
Police said that on May 31 at 11:30 pm, the accused had switched off his mobile after leaving D Mart. After this his wife called him several times on his mobile but his number was not reachable. Then at 2 o’clock in the night, a video of the young man’s hands and feet tied came on the mobile of the accused’s wife. Then after some time a WhatsApp call came from the same number in which a demand of Rs 5 lakh was made. The ransomer had also threatened over the phone that if she told anyone, he would kill the young man.
When the police started the investigation after getting the information of the kidnapping, it was found that the accused himself was driving a bike and taking a person along. After which the Bangunagar police arrested the accused from Malad area with the help of technical evidence. Police have arrested a 27-year-old youth named Jitendra Joshi after registering a case of misleading against the accused. The accused is a resident of Dahisar East Ghartanpada.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar Bansal said that when he investigated thoroughly, it came to know that the accused had taken loans from many places and had conspired to kidnap himself to collect money from his father.
