Mumbai University gets its maths wrong in maths exam, gives 115 marks out of 100
About six students who took the Mumbai University fifth semester maths exam got a windfall. They were rewarded more than the maximum score that the paper was set for.
While some students scored 115, two scored 104. The Mumbai University BSc Mathematics examination for the fifth semester was organised in November last year. The result was declared last Friday. These errors creeped into the group theory subject of the fifth semester of the course.
It was reported before on the fact that students who were present were marked absent. However, the university official said that a technical error has occurred in the software and that the mistake will be corrected and the revised results for those students will be issued.
Students were given increased numbers in the written exam, which points to the poor quality of assessment by teachers, said a former Senate member.
