Before the Supreme Court’s decision on the suspension of Shiv Sena MLAs, a big statement of the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker has come to the fore. Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar has said that according to the Constitution, the decision to suspend MLAs is the Speaker’s (me) right. Narvekar said that the court intervenes when the decision is unconstitutional, but as the Speaker, I will take the right decision.
Rahul Narvekar said that the deputy speaker has to take a decision when the post of President is vacant, but I am on the post of speaker in the state, there is no vacancy. If the decisions of the speaker of the assembly are unconstitutional, or against the law, then only in these circumstances any court or any other body has the right to interfere in this matter. In our country, the constitution itself has given equal rights to the executive board or the legal board or the judicial board. In such a situation, if faith is to be maintained in the Constitution, then I am sure that everyone will get a chance to work freely.
Rahul Narvekar further said, “According to the information released in the constitution, I will be the speaker of the assembly, that is, my work will remain uninterrupted. We will take our decision according to the rules of the constitution. If the matter of the vice-president is in the court, then it should not be talked about, I do not consider it appropriate. There is no doubt that the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly has the rights of eligible and ineligible MLAs.
At the same time, the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker said, “Sanjay Raut speaks something or the other every morning. It is not necessary to take his words seriously. There is no fact in this allegation, I do not consider it right to answer it. The post on which It is very important to keep the dignity of the post I am sitting in. The decision of the Supreme Court will not change if I stay here or go anywhere. The right to decide suspension or eligible-ineligible is only with the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly (me) at the ground level.
