Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Tuesday that an alliance created for the purpose of imposition of power, based on dynasty politics and bearing in mind casteism and regionalism, is highly destructive to the nation. This came on the same day when opposition parties announced their INDIA coalition to take on the NDA.
At an important meeting held here, Modi stated, “The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) unites the people of the country while the opposition divides them.” He was speaking to the leaders of the coalition partners of the BJP.
According to him, the NDA has just celebrated 25 years in office, a time during which it has accelerated national development and met regional ambitions.
“NDA is a gorgeous rainbow of regional ambitions… So nation-building via state-building… “NDA is leading the way in exemplifying the spirit of’sabka prayas’ at a time when we are working for a developed India,” he added.
According to Modi, the nation has a long history of political partnerships, but any alliance that was founded on negativity was doomed to failure.
“The Congress exploited coalitions in the 1990s to create instability in the nation. Governments were erected and overthrown by them. During this time in 1998, the NDA was founded. It was established not to overthrow or oppose anybody, but rather to stabilize the nation, the prime minister said.
He said that choices that alter the course of the country are made when there is a stable administration.
“We seen it under Atal (Bihari Vajpayee) ji’s administration, and we are seeing it again, nine years later. The world is more confident in India now because of a stable administration, he said.
“We practiced positive politics and abstained from nasty politics while we were in opposition as well. We criticized the administration and exposed their frauds, but we never disregarded the order. We never requested outside assistance to overthrow regimes, Modi stated.
He said that the NDA never put obstacles in the way of the country’s growth, even while it was in the opposition.
According to Modi, many opposition-led governments restrict the implementation of federal programs in their states or, if they do, forbid them from advancing.
“Alliances are very harmful to the country when they are formed with the intention of corruption, when they are based on dynastic politics, when they are formed with casteism and regionalism in mind, and when they are formed under the coercion of power,” added Modi.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which consists of 38 parties, greeted the leaders of those parties when they arrived earlier at the location with flower bouquets and stoles as dhol rhythms played.
Earlier, BJP President J P Nadda, Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde of Maharashtra, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami of the AIADMK, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio of the latter, and former Bihar Chief Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha leader Jitan Ram Manjhi of the former welcomed Prime Minister Modi to the country.
The prime minister received and spoke with NDA officials there.
Chirag Paswan, the leader of the LJP (Ram Vilas), met Modi and touched his feet before embracing him.
