Beginning on Monday, Delhi’s streets will be surrounded by heightened levels of security in anticipation of India’s 77th Independence Day celebrations. According to the police, a rigorous monitoring is being maintained in light of the recent violence in Haryana’s Nuh and surrounding districts.

At the Mughal-era Red Fort here, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on August 15, several security measures have been put in place, including face recognition systems, video analytic systems, anti-drone systems, air weapons, and more.
While anti-terrorist measures have been put in place, including the installation of air defense weapons, about 1,000 AI-monitored face recognition cameras have been erected in and around Red Fort at crucial points to monitor movements. For the prime minister’s and other VVIP visitors’ protection, snipers, elite SWAT commandos, and sharpshooters will be posted in key areas.
The police added that residents in the vicinity of the Red Fort have been asked not to fly kites until the event is over and that 153 kite catchers will be deployed with the necessary equipment at strategic locations to intercept kites. Additionally, the areas surrounding the Red Fort have been designated as “no kite flying zones.”
Border regions are subject to stringent security inspections, and entrance of large vehicles into the national capital has been halted as of Sunday midnight.
In addition, the Delhi Police has stepped up patrols and anti-sabotage inspections. Verification of renters and servants is being done at hotels, guest houses, parking lots, and restaurants. Meetings are also conducted with members of RWAs (resident welfare associations) and MWAs (market welfare associations), according to Sagar Singh Kalsi, deputy commissioner of police for the north.

Over 1,800 important visitors have been invited by the government to the Independence Day ceremony, in which over 20,000 officials will take part.

On Sunday, the Delhi Traffic Police issued a warning for vehicular traffic on Tuesday.
The area surrounding Red Fort, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the country on August 15, will remain off-limits to all vehicles from 4 am until 10 am.
The following eight road segments will remain closed to general traffic on Tuesday: Netaji Subhash Marg, Lothian Road, SP Mukherjee Marg, Chandni Chowk Road, Nishad Raj Marg, Esplanade Road and its link road to Netaji Subhash Marg, Ring Road from Rajghat to ISBT, and Outer Ring Road from ISBT to IP Flyover.
It advised drivers to avoid the C-Hexagon, India Gate, Copernicus Marg, Mandi House, Sikandra Road, A Point Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, BSZ Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, J L Nehru Marg, Ring Road between Nizamuddin Khatta and ISBT Kashmere Gate, and Outer Ring Road from Nizamuddin Khatta to ISBT Kashmere Gate via Salimgarh bypass.
From Monday at midnight to Tuesday at dawn, goods trucks are not allowed between Nizamuddin Khatta and Wazirabad Bridge. From 12 a.m. on Monday until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, interstate buses will not be permitted between Maharana Pratap ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT.
Local city buses, including those from the DTC, were advised to avoid using Ring Road between ISBT Kashmere Gate and Ring Road – NH-24 (NH-9)/NH T-point (Nizamuddin Khatta) from 12 am Monday to 11 am Tuesday and instead utilize the available other routes.
