In Pakistan, since the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, violence has continued from his supporters. On Tuesday, the chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran was arrested by the Rangers. Today Imran has appeared in the High Court. Imran Khan is currently in the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). On the other hand, his supporters are indulging in violence in many parts of the country due to which the situation has been out of control. His supporters are contiounsly attacking several army bases. The government has deployed the army in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. Meanwhile, Imran Khan has been convicted in the Toshakhana case. Charges have been framed against him.
Demand for 14 days custody
Fawad Chaudhary, former Information Minister of Pakistan and close to Imran Khan, has said that the army has been called in two provinces of the country. Both Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces account for 75 percent of the country’s population. He said that both of them are now under the control of the army. After arresting Imran Khan from the High Court, he was kept at the police headquarters in Police Lines. Here Imran is in the custody of NAB and has been presented in the special court. At present, the hearing on this whole matter is going on in the Islamabad High Court. Imran’s lawyers are arguing in his favor. The NAB, however, has sought 14 days’ custody for Imran. It is possible that he will be released and it is also possible that he will be put in jail. Strict security arrangements are in place at the police lines where Imran has been kept after his arrest. The road leading to the main gate of Police Lines has been completely blocked.
Asad Umar, a close aide of Imran Khan and General Secretary of PTI, has also been arrested. Umar has been arrested by the Counter Terrorism Department from the Islamabad High Court itself. PTI has appealed in the Supreme Court against Imran’s arrest. Imran’s arrest has been declared legal by the Islamabad High Court.
PTI gave the list of 20 lawyers
Mohsin Ranjha of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is present in the police lines. He has insisted that the PTI chief’s arrest has been carried out only after completing all legal proceedings. At the same time, before the hearing in the Special Court, the Islamabad Police has tweeted about the security arrangements. A new Police Guest House has been constructed at the Police Lines Headquarters. Here, the case which is being heard against Imran has been given the title of District Election Commissioner vs Imran Khan Niazi. A list of 20 lawyers was given by PTI, out of which only three have been given entry.
