Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a telephone conversation with the President of South Africa. The objective of the talks was to enhance cooperation between the two countries, review regional and global issues including bilateral cooperation. Meanwhile, South African President Matemela Cyril Ramaphosa briefed Prime Minister Modi about the peace initiative of the African leaders. President Ramaphosa expressed his support for India’s G20 Chairmanship. Many important issues were discussed between the leaders of the two countries. According to information available on Narendra Modi’s website, the Prime Minister had a telephonic conversation today with the President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Matemela Cyril Ramaphosa. According to the information being received, the President of South Africa may soon visit India.
South African President to visit India Soon
During the phone conversation, the leaders of the two countries reviewed matters such as developments in bilateral cooperation. Prime Minister Modi thanked President Ramaphosa for the transfer of 12 cheetahs from South Africa to India at the beginning of the year. PM Narendra Modi exchanged views on many issues related to the interest of both countries such as cooperation in BRICS and many other regional and global issues. President Ramaphosa informed PM Narendra Modi about the peace initiative of the African leaders. At the same time, he also drew the attention of PM Modi that India supports all initiatives to maintain peace and stability.
South Africa supports India’s presidency
PM Modi also mentioned India’s dialogue policy for diplomacy. President Ramaphosa supported the initiatives under the ongoing G20 presidency of India and said that he looked forward to visit India. Both the leaders have agreed to meet each other soon. Now it remains to be seen when the President of South Africa Ramaphosa is going to visit India. Significantly, earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi had gone on a trip to three countries.
