On Friday morning in Pune, a fire started in a godown for a fabric plant. At 8:15 am, a call about the incident was made to the fire department control center. Up to 15 fire trucks and water tankers have flocked to the area, and attempts are being made to put out the fire. Images taken at the site showed the skyscraper emitting a massive black plume of smoke.
According to accounts, the fire started in a godown at Yewalewadi in Pune’s Kondhwa Budruk that was housing furniture and clothing.
“Efforts to control the fire are currently underway,” a fire brigade officer was reported by PTI as saying. “Twelve fire tenders and water tankers were rushed to the scene.”
So yet, there have been no recorded casualties. The fire’s origin has not yet been determined. More information is awaited.
