Congress scion Rahul Gandhi has intentionally stirred up controversy by giving a Congress party worker biscuits that a dog had refused. The unsettling footage of the incident, which happened in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on his “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra,” has gone popular on social media.
“Just a few days ago, Congress President Kharge ji compared the party’s booth agents to dogs, and here Rahul Gandhi is feeding biscuits to a dog during his visit, and when the dog did not eat, he gave the same biscuits to his worker,” BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya wrote in a statement regarding the issue on Monday, February 5.
He stressed, “It is normal for a party to vanish if its president and crown prince treat its party workers like dogs.”
Pallavi CT, a fellow BJP lawmaker, posted the identical video and said that Rahul Gandhi had humiliated Himanta Biswa Sarma, the current chief minister of Assam, by making him eat biscuits from the same plate as his dog.
How blatant! Initially, Rahul Gandhi forced Himanta Biswa ji to share a plate of biscuits with his favourite dog, Pidi. Following Congress President Khargeji’s comparison of party workers to dogs, Shehzada offers a party worker a treat that a dog had refused. She made the observation, “This is the respect they have for their party workers, supporters, and voters.”
In response to Pallavi CT’s tweet on Monday, February 5th, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that he was the only Congressman who had truly refused to eat biscuits from the same plates as Rahul Gandhi’s dog.
Pallavi ji, the whole family, even Rahul Gandhi, was unable to force me to eat that biscuit. I feel proud to be Indian and Assamese. He clarified, “I resigned from the Congress and refused to eat.”
Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed in a June 2021 interview with The Indian Express that he held a meeting with Rahul Gandhi to talk about Assam’s issues prior to the 2016 elections.
He told the story, saying, “We were given tea and biscuits, and the dog approached the table and took one biscuit off it. Rahul gave me a smile as he gazed at me. I was expecting Rahul Gandhi to ring the bell and request that someone get the plate changed, which is why I was wondering why he was grinning.
“After a while, I noticed that Congressmen Joshi and Gogoi were all eating biscuits from the same platter. I wasn’t a frequent visitor until I discovered that everyone experiences this because it occurs at every meeting. That day, I made the decision to leave that person (Rahul Gandhi) because I could no longer stand it,” Sarma said.
