Australia and South Africa’s World Cup second semifinal match resumed play on Thursday after a 45-minute break.
Rain interrupted play at the Eden Gardens after 14 overs, with South Africa at 44 for 4.
A rain interrupted the proceedings when David Miller, 10, and Heinrich Klaasen, 10, were at the crease. With two wickets each, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood spearheaded Australia’s bowling attack.
While Australia is vying for their sixth 50-over championship and a spot in the top battle, South Africa is trying to make it to their first-ever World Cup final.
India will play the victor of this match on Sunday in Ahmedabad in the final.
