Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra: Social media glorification of Aurangzeb’s status has led to disturbances and religious tension in various cities across Maharashtra. Incidents of religious riots have occurred in Ahmednagar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Kolhapur. Now, Navi Mumbai has also witnessed the emergence of religious discord. Although Navi Mumbai is not known for religious conflicts, the police have issued an appeal for peace to prevent any strife related to Aurangzeb in the city.
A young man, aged 29 to 30, working in a mobile service shop, posted a status with a photo of Aurangzeb. In response, activists from various Hindu organizations, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Shiv Shambho Pratishthan, Hindu Sakal Samaj Organization, and Bharatiya Janata Party, gathered at Vashi Police Station in the evening to protest against him. The police have detained the youth and are conducting an interrogation.
According to reports, Hindu organizations traced the youth through his mobile number and handed him over to the police. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vivek Pansare, stated that the youth is being questioned at the police station and appropriate legal action will be taken against him after the investigation.
A case has been registered against Mohammad Ali Mohammad Hussain, aged 29 to 30, at Vashi Police Station, as his act of posting Aurangzeb’s photo as a status has the potential to create tension among religious groups in Navi Mumbai and disrupt public peace.
Meanwhile, the police have appealed to all community members to maintain peace in this matter. They are actively working to prevent the situation from escalating in Navi Mumbai.
