Tuesday’s derailment of two coaches of an empty train at the Puri station yard had an impact on services, according to authorities.
Due to the mishap, they claimed there may be a small delay in services to and from Puri.
While the train was being pulled for berthing at approximately 3.30 p.m., the 18418 Gunupur-Puri Express derailed. They said that because of obstruction on all the lines, from route 1 to route 9, the derailment had an impact on signaling.
The incident left no one hurt, according to authorities. They said that a train sent from Khurda Road was trying to restore services when it was involved in an accident.
The East Coast Railroad pleaded with passengers for understanding, noting that workers were putting in a lot of effort to place the two carriages and remove the impediment for easy train travel.
