It appears that a crucial piece of evidence in the well-known Sheena Bora murder trial has vanished. The CBI asserts that the bones are Sheena Bora’s remains, but the prosecution informed the court that they are supposedly untraceable.
The missing piece of evidence is a set of skeletal remains discovered by Pen police in 2012, the alleged murder year of Sheena Bora. Despite a careful search, Public Prosecutor CJ Nandode told the special CBI court in Mumbai that the bones—which are essential for forensic analysis—could not be found.
The revelation was made during Dr. Zeba Khan’s testimony, a forensic specialist from JJ Hospital who first examined the bones in 2012 and determined they were, in fact, human remains. The prosecution’s story was established in large part because of Dr. Khan’s examination.
The defense attorneys did not object when the prosecution initially asked for more time to find the bones. The prosecution is allegedly ready to use Dr. Khan’s testimony without putting the bones on display, though, after failing to locate them. The defense offered no opposition to this action, which is likely to undermine the prosecution’s case.
According to the CBI, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, mother Indrani Mukerjea, and driver Shyamwar Rai strangled Sheena Bora in 2012. It is then said that the body was brought to Pen village and set ablaze.
The remains that the Pen police had found in 2012 were taken to JJ Hospital for analysis. Until 2015, when Rai’s arrest made the suspected murder public, the matter remained unresolved.
Later, in 2015, Khar police discovered additional remains at the disposal site. To ascertain the gender, age, and cause of death, as well as to verify if these remains were those of the same individual as the bones discovered in 2012, they were transported to AIIMS, Delhi, for additional examination.
Both sets of remains, according to the CBI, are Sheena Bora’s. Ranjeet Sangle, the attorney for Indrani Mukerjea, refutes this assertion, claiming that the remains from 2012 and 2015 do not belong to the same individual.
The missing evidence is unbelievable and a completely negative show from the CBI.
