Kapil Sibal, a Rajya Sabha member, poked fun at the Modi administration on Saturday as it completed nine years in office. He said that politics was split, ‘achche din’ had faded, and institutions had been “captured” while society had been “ruptured.”
Sibal urged voters to pick a new administration in the general elections of 2024.
A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed nine years in power, the former Union minister attacked the BJP-led NDA administration.
Sibal poked fun at the administration in a tweet by employing rhymes.
“After nine years in office, India and the media worship Modi. No need for correction, only fear and deceit. ‘Acchhe din’ diminished as politics fractured. Key figures are pursued, and the opposition is restrained. Institutions seized, society torn apart, he said.
“Let us now pray for change in 2024,” Sibal said.
Sibal, a former Union minister for the UPA-1 and UPA-2 administrations, left the Congress in May of last year and received support from the Samajwadi Party to be elected as an Independent to the Rajya Sabha. He most recently put out the non-electoral platform “Insaaf,” which aims to combat injustice.
Sibal’s jab at the government comes after the BJP emphasised the accomplishments of the NDA administration’s nine years in office and claimed that Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has led to “all-round development and inclusive growth” in the nation.
