During the Parmeshwar Yatra at Vagdari in Akkalkot taluka of Solapur, a major accident took place due to the failure of the wheel of the chariot. Two people died on the spot after coming under the wheels of the chariot. This incident happened on Sunday night. Many devotees pull this chariot from the Parmeshwar Mandir to the bus stand area. According to the information received, two devotees died and many were injured when one side wheel suddenly fell off while pulling the chariot. All religious programs have been canceled due to the accident.
The pulling of the Thera (chariot) during the village deity Parmeshwar Yatra festival from Akkalkot town to Vagdari was a religious event. In an unfortunate incident, two devotees died on Sunday night due to slipping off the wheel of the chariot.
A large number of devotees pull this chariot from the Parameshwara temple to the bus station area. These chariots are usually 12 feet wide and have stone wheels. While pulling the chariot, suddenly one side wheel came off and ran over two devotees. They were admitted to the hospital for treatment but the doctors informed them that they died before treatment. After this incident, all the programs of Parmeshwar Yatra Utsav in Wagdari have been canceled.
