Supriya Sule, the working president of the Nationalist Congress Party, claimed on Thursday that Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, was to blame for the police action against Maratha quota protesters in Jalna on September 1. She also claimed that the state and federal governments were not serious about providing reservations for different communities.
When police attempted to move a hunger striker in Antarwali Sarathi in the Ambad tehsil of Jalna to a hospital, there was a violent response that resulted in the injuries of many people, including 40 police officers, and the burning of 15 state transportation vehicles.
“Quotas for Marathas, Lingayats, Muslims, Dhangars, and other groups are not taken seriously by the state or the federal governments. Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister, mentioned resolving the Dhangar reservation problem at a meeting that took place in front of our home in Baramati, but he seemed to have forgotten about it, the woman said.
“Fadnavis, who oversees the Home portfolio in the Eknath Shinde administration, is to blame for the police lathi-charges on protesters in Jalna. To address the reservations problem, the Union government must call a special session of Parliament, according to the Baramati Lok Sabha Member.
Speaking at a news conference held here, Sule said that although farmers were suffering from a lack of rain, which had also led to a shortage of cattle feed, the government was doing nothing to help.
Using the phrase “ED and CBI (central probe agencies) at your doorstep,” Sule made fun of the state administration’s “shasan aplya dari” (government at your doorstep) effort and made reference to cases against a number of opposition politicians.
She said that the Centre has begun speculating about changing the name of the nation because it was terrified of the opposition group INDIA.
She claimed that the NCP had not experienced a split and that Jayant Patil remained to lead the state unit while Sharad Pawar served as the party’s national president.
Ajit Pawar and eight other MLAs joined the Eknath Shinde administration on July 2.
