Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the head of the Telangana BJP, was granted bail on Thursday by a Warangal court after he was taken into custody in connection with the leak of class X test questions. He was required to provide two surety bonds, each costing Rs 20,000. Tomorrow is scheduled for the release of the BJP leader (Friday).
After being detained on Wednesday, he had filed a court plea for bail. Sanjay Kumar represents the Karimnagar seat in the Lok Sabha. He was reportedly taken away by a police squad from his home in Karimnagar City. His party members reportedly protested when he was first placed under preventative detention.
“In a Warangal Court, a bail application was filed yesterday night. This is the anticipated hearing date. A habeas corpus petition was also submitted to the Telangana High Court.
Today’s hearing will also include that, “Rachana Reddy, a BJP politician and lawyer, informed the reporters.
Sanjay was detained by police on Wednesday amid late-night drama after being listed as the primary suspect by the city police in connection with the case of malpractice after a Standard 10 (SSC) board exam question paper was discovered on groups of an instant messaging app.
In the late afternoon in Warangal, he was presented before a local court.
Sanjay Kumar, according to Warangal Police Commissioner AV Ranganath, conspired to spread misinformation and cause a disruption of the ongoing SSC public examination in Telangana state after pictures of two question papers appeared on social media. His goal was to discredit the state government, which was duly elected, by inciting fear among students and their parents.
According to Tarun Chugh, the BJP’s national general secretary and Telangana in-charge, the arrest of the party’s president was unlawful and unconstitutional, and it would be the last blow to the oppressive dictatorship of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
