The police has given a notice to Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham, who had come to read the story in Thane, Maharashtra. This notice was given to him even before the start of Hanuman Katha. Police has taken this action on the written complaint of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti.
Sunday (May 7), Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, arrived to perform Ram Katha and Hanuman Katha for three days at the ancient Shiva temple of Ambernath located in Thane district. Hanuman Katha has started here. But even before the beginning of the story, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti gave a written letter to the police saying that Baba of Bageshwar Dham should not give any such statement which could create any law and order problem.
On the basis of the letter, the Ambernath Shivaji Nagar police issued a notice to Dhirendra Shastri under section 149 of the IPC. According to the organisers, two to two and a half lakh devotees participated in this Katha.
Due to the lakhs of devotees who arrived on Sunday, the police had to struggle a lot to control the crowd in the premises of the Shiva temple. On the first day, about 2 lakh devotees came to attend the court of Baba Dhirendra Shastri. Baba was warmly welcomed as soon as he came on the stage. Not only Maharashtra but also from states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, a large number of people reached the venue.
