The African National Congress will host the ‘BRICS political parties plus discussion’ summit this year in South Africa, and the BJP will take part.
This was disclosed by BJP President J P Nadda at a meeting with chiefs of missions visiting India from the Middle East, Africa, the European Union, and the Caribbean countries on Wednesday at the party’s headquarters.
“Nadda ji also announced that the delegation from the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) and the ruling Awami League of Bangladesh will visit India on the invitation of the BJP in the near future,” the party’s in-charge of international affairs, Vijay Chauthaiwale, told reporters after the meeting.
“The details about it will be announced in due course,” he continued.
According to Chauthaiwale, on Wednesday, the chiefs of 12 different embassies visited the BJP headquarters and spoke with party leader Nadda.
“Head of Missions to India from Bangladesh, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Guyana, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mozambique, South Korea, Suriname, Sweden, and Tanzania were present,” he said.
This was the party’s sixth such interactive event since Nadda introduced the “Know BJP” program on the party’s founding day, April 6, last year, in an effort to “address overseas audiences.”
With the conversation on Wednesday, Nadda has now had interactions with 68 mission leaders as part of this project.
The BJP has had amazing growth over the last nine years. Participants in the conversation asked about this growth, the BJP’s membership drive, its use of technology, and its expansion plan in different states, Chauthaiwale added.
He continued by saying that the foreign envoys also wanted to hear from Nadda about the BJP’s opinions on regional parties.
