Kejriwal accused the BJP openly again.Amid widespread rumours that he might be jailed in relation to the purported liquor scandal, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal released a video message on Thursday. “You have heard the term sharab ghotala multiple times over the past two years. There have been several related raids. None of the agencies found a single rupee. Where was the money spent? Was it just gone from the air? A day after he ignored the Enforcement Directorate’s third summons, Arvind Kejriwal stated in a video message, “The truth is, there hasn’t been any corruption.”
“A number of AAP leaders are incarcerated in this case despite the lack of proof against them after being wrongly accused. The BJP now desires my arrest. My honesty is my greatest asset. Kejriwal stated that false accusations are intended to damage my reputation and discredit me.
In response to the summons, Kejriwal claimed that his attorneys informed him that it was illegal. “I explained in great length why their summonses were invalid. However, they didn’t respond since they didn’t have one. Should I heed unauthorised summonses? If I receive a formal summons, I will comply,” Kejriwal declared.
“There is nothing for the BJP to look into. All they want is for me to be prevented from running for the Lok Sabha. If not, why would they call me right before the election? The inquiry has been ongoing for the past two years. I got a call from the CBI eight months ago. Did I not go to that? I answered every question the CBI posed. However, they only intend to detain me under the guise of a summons,” Kejriwal continued.
“Their call to me just two months before the election shows that ED has no intention of conducting an investigation. The BJP is using the CBI and ED to apprehend opposition party leaders. There are other examples of leaders getting off to a clean slate as soon as they join the BJP. Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain, and Sanjay Singh are currently incarcerated—not for corrupt practices, but rather for their refusal to become members of the BJP. We would have joined the BJP by now if we had done something wrong, Kejriwal claimed.
