Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, made news on Tuesday by personally opening the company’s first retail location in India. The business had enormous lines of admirers and consumers even before it opened. In the midst of desi drum beats, CEO Tim Cook welcomed the first customers and a sizable throng at the inauguration.
After the opening, Cook left the Mumbai retail location and posed for pictures with the many first-time Apple customers.He greeted clients at Apple BKC, which is situated in the bustling Jio World Drive Mall in Mumbai’s busy Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) financial, artistic, and entertainment hub.
With the help of ambitious sales tactics, the new Apple flagship retail outlets in Mumbai and New Delhi will propel the company’s development in the next year. For those who don’t know, the business plans to launch the Delhi location on April 20 at 10 am.
“Apple BKC is a reflection of Mumbai’s vibrant culture and brings together the best of Apple in a beautiful, welcoming space for connection and community,” said Deirdre O’Brien, senior vice president of retail at Apple.

Through the summer, Mumbai Rising, a unique Today at Apple series, will be accessible at Apple BKC every Tuesday. Tourists, local artists, and creatives will come together at these free Apple product and service events, which will also provide interactive activities that celebrate the district and its culture.

Apple BKC is designed to be among the most energy-efficient Apple Store locations in the world, with a dedicated solar array and 0% dependency on fossil fuels for store operations.The store’s operations are carbon neutral since it solely employs renewable energy. Each of the 1,000 tiles that make up the ceiling is constructed from 408 pieces of wood, creating 31 modules.
In all, almost 450,000 different wood pieces were utilised, all of which were assembled in Delhi. Customers are greeted as they approach the shop by two Rajasthani stone walls and a 14-metre stainless steel staircase leading to the upper mezzanine.At Apple BKC, there are more than 100 team members who together speak more than 20 different languages.
