In a special gesture on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, the Mumbai BJP will deliver lakhs of “Thanks Modiji” postcards sent by Muslim women and poor people in Maharashtra to PM Modi’s residence amid opposition attacks at the Centre following recent episodes of violence during the occasion of Ram Navami in a few states.
A significant number of Muslim ladies who wrote “Thanks Modiji” postcards as a special present for Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be delivered to the PM’s house on Eid as part of a special effort by the Mumbai BJP (April 22).
Muslim ladies made this specific gesture in response to resistance against the Centre for Ram Navami violence in different states.
On the occasion of Eid, the Mumbai BJP will give PM Modi this unique gift (Thanks Modiji postcards) from the Muslim community.
Ashish Shelar, the president of the BJP in Mumbai, and Haji Arafat, the head of the party’s minority cell, launched this unique campaign. The party made particular preparations for this campaign.
Speaking of the campaign, Haji Arafat stated that the opposition and some individuals label Prime Minister Modi as being anti-Muslim, which prompted us to consider the initiative in which those who have benefited from the government’s initiatives, including Muslim women and the poor, send thank-you notes to the Prime Minister.
Arafat added that they handed postcards to various sites in Mumbai while brochures were posted on automobiles and buildings to promote information about the campaign.
Speaking further on the campaign’s reception, Arafat said that they had gotten tens of thousands of heartfelt “Thanks Modiji” postcards.
The postcards feature the sender’s cellphone number and the location from where they were sent, which may be used to confirm their validity.
Haji Arafat, the head of the party’s minority cell, said that the bulk of “Thanks Modiji” postcards sent by Muslim women were in support of the repeal of Article 370, free rationing, and the elimination of “Triple Talaq.”
More than 7 lakh postcards have already been sent, according to Arafat, and they will be delivered to PM Modi’s home in Delhi on Eid.
Arafat said, “Several Muslim ladies also contacted my home and sent PM Modi thank-you notes in Urdu. When we asked them why they were writing the postcard, they responded that they were doing so because of Prime Minister Modi. Some thanked him for providing them with free vaccines and masks, while others said that the government’s free rationing programme made it simpler for them to run the household.”
