Fans of Indian cricket will never forget April 2, 2011. With a spectacular six-wicket victory against Sri Lanka on this day, India was able to win the World Cup for the second time in its history.
MS Dhoni became India’s primary mastermind behind the victory. In the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the India skipper led his team to World Cup victory with an incredible unbroken score of 91. In the championship game, Gautam Gambhir also produced a fantastic hit of 97. India completed the run-scoring with 10 balls remaining.

Virender Sehwag
The legendary opener for India announced his retirement from international cricket in 2015. The 44-year-old began working as a broadcaster and analyst after retiring. Sehwag has also competed in the World Series of Road Safety.
Sachin Tendulkar
The Master Blaster was last used in international cricket in 2013. Tendulkar continued to play sports even after his retirement. The Kerala Blasters of the Indian Super League (ISL) were now under his control. Also, he shares ownership of Bengaluru Blasters of the Premier Badminton League.
Gautam Gambhir
In 2018, the talented opening hitter declared his retirement from all forms of cricket. Gautam Gambhir made the decision to enter politics. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March 2019 and is now an East Delhi-based BJP Member of Parliament (MP). He is a renowned cricket commentator as well.
Virat Kohli
India is now represented in all three game types by their top hitter. Kohli is presently playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
MS Dhoni
In 2022, India’s World Cup-winning captain announced his retirement from international play. Dhoni may no longer compete in international games, but he still has the ammunition to compete in the IPL. The storied Indian captain is presently in charge of the Chennai Super Kings team.
Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh, the top performer for India in the 2011 World Cup, announced his retirement in 2019. He is presently the foundation’s director. Yuvraj has often served as a coach for the Punjab cricket team.
Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina made the decision to end his brilliant career only hours after MS Dhoni confirmed his international retirement in 2020. Raina’s most recent appearance on the domestic circuit was during the IPL 2020 season. Also, during the last several years, he has participated in a few franchise-level T20 competitions.
Harbhajan Singh
