According to rumors, Apple, a US-based tech giant, would release the Apple iPhone 17 Pro with under-panel Face ID in 2027. According to a recent source, it will continue to be restricted to iPhones with the “Pro” model.
Ross Young, a display expert, recently posted an updated roadmap on Twitter. According to him, the iPhone 17 Pro will be the first Apple product to use Face ID beneath the display. Young said that “Apple will go completely LTPO in 2025, and even basic models will eventually attain 120Hz refresh.”
According to this new roadmap posted on Twitter, the front-facing camera will include a circular cutout in addition to the under-display Face ID feature. Until the “Pro” iPhone models shift the camera beneath the display for a genuine “all screen” look in 2027, this approach is anticipated to stay in place.
Young predicted that the iPhone 16 Pro models will be the first to use under-panel Face ID technology back in May 2022. He did just say that there will be a one-year delay because of “sensor difficulties.” Due to this modification, the two display cuts on Dynamic Island will not alter throughout the course of three “Pro” iPhone iterations.
The regular iPhone 17 models are anticipated to have ProMotion in addition to the under-panel Face ID technology, which is presently only available on Apple’s top-tier handsets.
Apple is also preparing to make a significant modification to its iPhones this year. A multi-purpose action button is anticipated to replace the standard mute switch on the next Apple iPhone 15 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro will reportedly include a physical button on the side of the handset that can be used for a number of tasks, including muting calls, capturing screenshots, and starting Siri, according to information that has leaked.
Compared to the present mute option, which can only be used to silence incoming calls and alerts, the new button is reportedly more flexible.
