While state and national political circles on Tuesday welcomed NCP president Sharad Pawar’s decision to resign as party chief, many broke down and asked him to take back his decision. Sharad Pawar’s supporters staged sit-ins at many places and said that he would have to withdraw his decision. Following this, Ajit Pawar, state party chief Jayant Patil and senior party leaders tried to pacify the party workers and leaders and urged them to remain calm.
82-year-old Sharad Pawar has announced his retirement during the release of his autobiography ‘Lok Majhe Sangati – Political Autobiography’. Making the important announcement, Pawar said, “It will continue to strive for the development of the party organization, to take the party’s ideology and goals to the people and to serve the people as they deem fit. Even though I may I am stepping down from the post of Speaker, but I am not retiring from public life.”
Sharad Pawar has written in his book that BJP wanted to destroy Shiv Sena, that was their strategy. The opposition took advantage of the weak relationship and mutual distrust between BJP and Shiv Sena. Amit Shah and PM Modi later had no sympathy for Shiv Sena, it was understood from their statements and body language.
