The preacher was not named in the Uttar Pradesh police’s first information report (FIR) on Wednesday, one day after 121 people lost their lives in a stampede at Bhole Baba’s Satsang in the Hathras area of the state. The preacher has not made an appearance at his expansive ashram in Mainpuri, according to the police, and has kept a low profile since the event on Tuesday.
Saakar Vishwa Hari Bhole Baba and Baba Narayan Hari are other names for Bhole Baba. More than twenty years ago, he left the police force to become a preacher. He is the head of multiple ashrams. The largest among them is his Mainpuri ashram.
On Wednesday, the police fortified the area surrounding his Mainpuri ashram. They asserted that the self-proclaimed godman wasn’t on the property, though.
During his sermons, Bhole Baba compared himself to God.
“I visit churches, mosques, gurdwaras, and temples. I arrive wherever I am summoned. According to PTI, Jesus states, “And if I am not called, I don’t go,” in one of the preaching recordings.
A preliminary report stated that the rush happened as followers of the godman attempted to gather soil around his feet and were pushed by his security detail. The steep slope made the issue worse.
The authorities have cancelled his two forthcoming congregations.
He is a native of the Kasganj district’s Bahadurnagar village. He is a sixty-year-old man without children.
The baba, according to the villagers, never requested gifts. Gifts from the public were used to build his ashrams.
The religious congregation’s organisers in Hathras were accused of concealing evidence by the Uttar Pradesh police, who filed a formal complaint against them on Wednesday. The planners received clearance to have 80,000 followers, but only 2.5 lakh showed up, according to the FIR.
Devprakash Madhukar and other organisers have been reserved.
The complainant claimed that the Satsang was to blame for a traffic jam on the GT road.
On Tuesdayat 2:00 PM, Bhole Baba arrived at the location. His disciples knelt to collect the dirt off his feet. It added that the baba’s stick-wielding assistants stopped those fleeing the area.
According to AP Singh, his attorney, several anti-social elements conspired to instigate the stampede. Certain antisocial elements devised a plot. Narayan Saakar Hari’s trucks departed the scene, and because of the plot, neither our volunteers nor our supporters realised what was going on. This was carried out according to plan and needs to be looked into,” he declared.
He claimed that the preacher forbade his disciples from ever touching his feet. He also denied that anyone was scurrying to gather mud from the area surrounding his feet.
