Amit Shah, the Union Minister of the Interior, said on Tuesday that the BJP will win the Karnataka Assembly elections on May 10 despite several pre-election polls favouring the Congress.
“Pre-election polls consistently benefit Congress. They predict that Congress will prevail and predict that there will be fierce rivalry. However, once the results are known, the BJP will be proclaimed the victor, according to Shah, who on Tuesday attended roadshows and rallies in the election-bound state’s Yadgir, Bagalkot, and Vijayapura districts.
Shah also voiced his confidence in the BJP’s ability to secure a simple majority and establish the government. He predicted that former chief minister Jagadish Shettar and former deputy chief minister Laxman Savadi, who recently switched from the BJP to the Congress when the saffron party refused to provide them electoral tickets, will lose the election.
“The next elections are about giving Prime Minister Narendra Modi control over the state’s destiny. Voters need to choose a new Karnataka. This election is about development and ethical politics. If Congress takes over, the state would go backward, according to Shah.
