On Sunday night, BJP leader Vasundhara Raje criticised Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot for claiming that she prevented his Congress administration from being overthrown in 2020, calling Gehlot’s allegation a “conspiracy”. The Rajasthan chief minister is “lying out of fear of losing the 2023 assembly elections,” according to Raje. “Gehlot has insulted me more than anyone else. Because he is alarmed by the uprising within his party, he has made such bogus accusations, Raje claimed. In an earlier speech on Sunday, Gehlot claimed that Raje and two other BJP leaders had assisted him in keeping his administration in place during the 2020 crisis when some Congress MLAs attempted to overthrow him.
“Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Shobha Rani, and Kailash Meghwal, all former chief ministers of Rajasthan, were aware that their party members were overthrowing the administration. It was previously said by Kailash Meghwal and Vasundhara Raje Scindia that it was never our custom to overthrow an elected government for financial gain. Because they didn’t back those who overthrew the government, our government was able to survive, according to Gehlot. He said, “Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Gajendra Shekhawat conspired together and distributed the money inside the Rajasthan government.” He was referring to the BJP. “…I told our MLAs (who revolted) that even if they used any of the money obtained, they should let us know.
I’ll send you money and let the AICC know, but please don’t accept BJP funds. They’ll terrify you afterwards and threaten you if you don’t return their money. The CM of Rajasthan continued, “They removed 25 MLAs. Sachin Pilot, the deputy chief minister at the time and head of the Congress, along with 18 other party legislators, overthrew Gehlot’s rule in July 2020. After the party’s top headquarters intervened and ousted Pilot as the deputy CM and head of the state Congress, the situation persisted for almost a month.
