A war monitor reports that the number of people killed by the Israeli missile strike on Iranian facilities in the Syrian capital of Damascus last week has grown to 13.
Five Iranians, three of whom held commanding positions in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), four Syrians under contract with Iranian militias, two Lebanese people, one Iraqi national, and one Syrian civilian worker were among the 13 fatalities, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Sunday.
According to the Xinhua news agency, Israeli missiles on Saturday targeted a private building in the upscale Mazzeh Western Villas neighborhood, where an IRGC commanders’ conference was purportedly taking place.
The Israeli strike was sharply denounced by the Syrian Foreign Ministry on Saturday, and it was demanded that the world community intervene immediately to put an end to these “atrocities.”
