Canada has begun granting open work permits to US citizens on H1-B visas in an effort to entice more highly qualified computer workers.
Foreign people with H-1B visas are allowed to temporarily work in the US in a number of specialized fields, including the technology industry.
The hiring of tens of thousands of workers each year from nations like China and India is heavily dependent on this visa for the IT industry.

According to media sources, the authorization would now authorize US citizens with H1-B visas to visit and work in Canada for three years.
In addition, it will enable the candidates’ families to study or look for job opportunities in the nation.
The new initiative will run for a year, or until 10,000 applications are received by the Canadian government.
The Canadian government said in a press statement earlier this month that “thousands of individuals in high-tech industries are engaged with firms that have significant operations in both Canada and the US, and those working in the US often hold an H-1B specialized occupation visa. Holders of H-1B visas for specific occupations in the US, together with their immediate family members who are traveling with them, will be able to petition to move to Canada beginning on July 16, 2023.
They’ll be qualified to work for almost any business throughout Canada. The announcement said that their spouses and dependents would also be qualified to apply for a temporary residence visa with the appropriate employment or study authorization.
