Leaders of the whole world are considering the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as iron. The US President himself asked PM Modi for his autograph yesterday during the G7 summit. Now Modi’s visit to America is next month. In view of Prime Minister Modi’s historic state visit to the US, Indian Americans are planning to welcome him with ‘Bharat Ekta Diwas’ marches in 20 major cities of the country on June 18. The organizers of this march have announced this.
March from Washington Monument to Lincoln Memorial
Prime Minister Modi will pay his first state visit to the US in June at the invitation of US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. The Biden couple will also host Modi at a state banquet on 22 June. Adapa Prasad, leader of the Indian American community and national president of Overseas Friends of BJP-USA, said, “The Indian American community is very excited about Modi’s visit. The community is gathering here at the National Memorial in Washington DC on June 18. And there will be a ‘Bharat Ekta Diwas’ march from Washington Monument to Lincoln Memorial and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be welcomed. It will be organized two days in advance.”
March from east to west and north to south
Adapa Prasad said on Sunday that welcome marches would be taken out at historical sites such as Times Square in New York and the Golden Bridge in San Francisco at about 20 places “passing through major cities from east to west, north to south” in the US. Other cities where marches will take place include Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, Columbus and St. Louis. Describing the state visit as a historic event, Prasad said that all sections of the Indian American community are preparing unitedly to welcome the Prime Minister and make it an event to remember. Preparations are underway at all major venues in New York and Washington DC to welcome the Prime Minister.
