Before Tuesday’s MP-MLA court hearing in Prayagraj’s Umesh Pal kidnapping case, security was placed outside his apartment. His attorney’s home is likewise guarded.
District Bar Association, Prayagraj said that the MP-MLA court would only hear the Umesh Pal kidnapping case today.

Atiq Ahmed, a gangster-turned-politician and an accused in the case, was taken from Gujarat’s Sabarmati Prison to Prayagraj’s Naini jail on Monday after an almost 24-hour lengthy travel from Gujarat.
He will appear in court today for the Umesh Pal abduction. Court security has increased.
Uniformed police were heavily deployed outside Naini prison.
A 45-member Uttar Pradesh police squad released Atiq Ahmed from Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Prison on Sunday.
Ahmed informed reporters outside Sabarmati prison that a plot to assassinate him was underway under the guise of implementing court instructions.
“Court Ke Kandhe Par Rakhkar Hume Maarna Chah Rahe Hai (They are using the court’s instructions as a pretext to have me killed),” Atiq Ahmed remarked as he was being brought into a police van by a 45-member squad of Uttar Pradesh police.
Ahmed is the Umesh Pal murder suspect. On February 24, Umesh Pal, the primary witness in the 2005 murder of BSP Lawmaker Raju Pal, and two security officials were shot dead in Prayagraj.
On Sunday, Prayagraj Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma said that Atiq would appear in court on March 28 for a kidnapping case and get a judgment.
